Privacy Policy — OnlyTube

Last updated: July 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the OnlyTube browser extension ("the Extension," "we," "us") handles information when you use it.

Summary

The Extension runs entirely inside your browser. It does not have a backend server, and it does not transmit, sell, or share your data with anyone — including us. Everything the Extension does happens locally on your device.

What the Extension Accesses

OnlyTube only runs on YouTube pages. While you're on YouTube, it looks at the current page address and layout so it knows whether you're on the home page, a video page, or somewhere else — and then hides the right things based on your settings. It doesn't read what you're watching, your watch history, your account details, or anything personal.

If you right-click a YouTube video link and choose "Add to Daily Dose," the Extension grabs the video ID from that link and fetches the video's title and thumbnail from YouTube's public data. That's a normal web request your browser makes — nothing about you is attached to it.

OnlyTube doesn't touch any other website besides YouTube.

What Gets Saved on Your Device

The Extension saves two things to your browser's local storage:

  • Your feature preferences and toggle states (Zen Mode on/off, which distraction elements to hide, theme preference).
  • Your Daily Dose queue — the list of videos you've saved to watch later, including their titles, thumbnails, and YouTube URLs.

All of this stays on your device. None of it is transmitted to any server, including ours.

What We Don't Do

We certify that:

  • We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
  • We do not use or transfer your data for any purpose unrelated to the Extension's core function of reducing distractions on YouTube.
  • We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
  • We do not run a server that stores, logs, or has access to your YouTube activity or preferences.
  • We do not track your browsing behavior, watch history, or usage patterns.

Permissions

The only permission OnlyTube needs is access to YouTube. That's the only site it works on, and it uses that access only to hide the interface elements you've told it to hide.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Extension after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
